Martingale system\nis the most popular\n\nand talked about system\nby Blackjack pros\n\nand casual players alike.\n\nLesson 3-- Martingale strategy.\n\nThis system is\ndesigned to guarantee\n\nthat you profit your\ninitial wager whether it\n\nbe after 1 hand, or after\n10, or even 20 hands.\n\nIt's based on the probability\nthat you'll eventually\n\nwin a hand.\n\nHere's how the\nMartingale system works.\n\nYou start with your\ninitial bet of $10.\n\nIf you win, perfect.\n\nYou succeeded the\nMartingale, which\n\nis to win your initial wager.\n\nIt guarantees your\ninitial wager,\n\nwhich is usually quite small.\n\nAt this point, you could\neither go home with your wager,\n\nor restart Martingale.\n\nSo you place your initial\nwager of $10 again.\n\nHowever, this time\nyou lose the hand,\n\nso you need to double\nyour bet to $20\n\nin order to win your\ninitial wager back.\n\nIf you win this hand, you\nwill have profited $10\n\nafter the initial two\nhands, and you have\n\nsucceeded Martingale again.\n\nSo you can start over\nwith your $10 bet.\n\nBut should you\nlose that hand too,\n\nyou need to double that\nwager again, making it $40.\n\nThis is so you win your original\n$10 bet and your second $20\n\nbet, which is $30\ntotal in previous bets,\n\nand still make a $10 profit.\n\nShould you lose\nthis wager as well,\n\nyour next wager is\ndouble your previous bet,\n\nso you're now at $80.\n\nBasically, every\ntime you lose a hand,\n\nyou need to double\nyour previous bet.\n\nSo from now on, $160.\n\nYou'll lose, that $320,\n$640, $1,280, $2,560, $5,120,\n\nand $10,240, and so on.\n\nMartingale theory\nstates you keep going\n\nuntil you have achieved a win.\n\nThen you start back at $10.\n\nLike I said, this\nsystem is based\n\non winning a hand eventually.\n\nBut how much are you willing to\nrisk to win that initial $10?\n\nThe system is a little bit too\nclose to chasing after losses\n\nand forcing the action, which\nis a big no-no in Blackjack,\n\nespecially when the shoe is bad.\n\nWhen I was younger\nand on a cruise ship,\n\nI actually played this system\nwithout knowing what it was,\n\nand it worked for me\nand my limited bankroll.\n\nI would bet $10, and\nthen $25, and then $100.\n\nI was lucky enough that my\n$100 bet would win every time.\n\nBut it could have easily\ngone the other way.\n\nLet's look at
